Sheathed thermal elements with a tapered measurement point are our answer to the question of how to get short response times along with stable and durable processing or what to do if, for example, threaded holes require tapering due to the design. Only the one end of the thermal element including the measurement point is reduced in diameter so that it remains very sturdy overall and can be used optimally in welding sleeves or through-bolt joints in drill holes or threads.
The tapering of thermal elements is possible up to an outer diameter of 0.5 mm. The diameter of a thermal element can be reduced by up to 50% of the original size. An innovation: it is also possible to reduce the outer diameter in several steps, e.g. from 2 mm to 1mm, then to 0.5 mm. The length of the thermal element as well as the length of the tapered section can also be selected individually, depending on the application. We also have various versions for the measurement points. For applications in the high-frequency range, we recommend, for example, an insulated measurement point (IMV): an insulation layer (e.g. MgO) covers the measurement point and prevents it from bonding to the sheathed cable. In this way, the measurement point is protected from mechanical stress and direct contact with environmental influences – and something important to know: in contrast to sheath-welded measurement points, leakage currents are considerably reduced.
We always deliver precision manual work, because we understand your requirements and our trade. Our sheathed thermal elements are manufactured on the basis of mineral-insulated sheathed cables. The manufacture and execution are done in accordance with DIN EN 60584.
On request, we can also deliver your sheathed thermal elements completely assembled with thermoelectric lead and/or thermocouple plug.
