In the case of hot-junction, one differentiates between whether the two inner wires are reduced, insulated or welded to the mantle. According to the usage conditions, the reaction time can be influenced by this – the choice is yours!
The ends of the thermal wires are welded to a hot junction. The thermal wires are isolated to each other and the the sheathThe sheath is filled with insulation material, and finally welded.
Hot junction with reduced outer diameter (ungrounded)
The outer diameter of the thermocouple can be reduced to a length of 50 mm on the hot junction. The reduction corresponds roughly to half the original diameter. A reduction is possible up to a sheath diameter of 0.5 mm.
Sheath welded hot junction (grounded)
The ends of the thermal wires are welded to the hot junction with the sheath. In this way, the reaction times can be reduced by a quarter. The susceptibility to wear and tear is increased since the insulation protection vis-à-vis the isolated hot junction is lower.
Sheath welded hot junction with reduced outer diameter (grounded)
The outer diameter of the thermocouple can be reduced to a length of 50 mm on the side of the hot junction. The hot junction is welded with the sheath. The reduction corresponds roughly to half the original diameter. A reduction is possible up to a outer diameter of 0.5 mm.
beaded hot junction
(ungrounded)
The hot junction is outside the sheath. In this way, the reaction time is shortened. The hot junction is however exposed to increased wear and tear and mechanical strain.
